If you want to succeed in Work-related learning at Key Stage 4, you must do the following:

At least half a day for debriefing /follow-up of work experience or part-time work |
| Learn how businesses operate, job roles and conditions, and rights and responsibilities at work |
At least two curriculum activities that develop understanding of business and work |
| Develop awareness of extent and diversity of local and national employment opportunities |
At least two tasks that investigate labour market information |
| Relate own abilities, attributes and achievements to career intentions and make informed choices based on understanding the alternatives |
Activities to develop skills for career management, including a guidance interview focusing on career progression |
| Undertake tasks and activities set in work contexts |
On at least two occasions use work as context for learning within the curriculum, and record evidence of the learning |
| Learn from contact with personnel from different employment sectors |
Direct contact with at least two people from different sectors with different roles and working conditions |
| Experience (direct or indirect) of working practices and environments |
At least twice use work practices or environments as contexts for learning in the curriculum, and record evidence of the learning |
| Engage with ideas, challenges and applications from the business world |
Undertake at least one business challenge, problem solving or enterprise activity |
