Choices & Questions

All around us, and throughout our lives, there are choices to be made.
Good decisions need good information. Don't be rushed into making a decision, especially not about something as important as your career, before you feel you have all the informaiton you need.
The best way to choose a job or work placement is to talk to people about what their job is like. It could be anyone who has experienced work - your family, friends and neighbours. Or people who visit your school.
Keep asking questions:
- What is it like to do that job?
- How much do you get paid?
- Which jobs are suitable for my skills and interests?
- How many of those jobs are there where I live or where I want to live in the future?
- What are the chances of getting that job?
Most people like talking about their own experiences and will give you as much detail as you want. As long as you are really interested, it is amazing what information you can get from people.
Here are some more open questions you can ask.
