Drayton Park School enjoys local employers

On Thursday 1st December, Drayton Park Primary School hosted three business guests.
60 Year 5-6 pupils participated in the event, which involved the pupils guessing their jobs and asking their own questions about what work is like. The aim was to benefit students by improving their career awareness and communication skills. The business guests benefited by finding out what today's young people think about work.
"I really enjoyed the pupils enthusiasm and the more inventive questions," said Niz Smith from MK Women and Work.
Teacher Mr Lands said: "This was a great chance for the children to meet and ask questions about the world of work. I think all the children asked a question and made a positive contribution."
Caroline Lewis, Headteacher, said: "I believe it has broadened the thinking of many of our pupils and hopefully raised aspirations in addition to providing a great opportunity for them to practise their questioning, speaking and listening skills."
One student said: “I enjoyed guessing their jobs and learning about what they do in their work”.
