Employers Survey
Our Employers Survey in Spring 2011 was sent to 646 local employers, representing a wide range of employer sizes and sectors. 90 responses were received, with feedback as follows:
- WEX Hosts satisfaction with the service – 28% Excellent, 69% Good, 3 % Satisfactory and 0% Poor. So 97% of respondents rate the Work Experience service as good or excellent.
- 92% say the main reason why they host students on work placement is because ‘It’s important employers help young people learn about work’. 7% say it’s because it gives contract with potential recruits to the company. This confirms that employers see the activity as an altruistic activity rather than ‘bottom line’ benefit.
- 68% say it is important we phone them each time to ask if they will host a student. 9% say once a year would be better.
- 4% of respondents say we approach them too often to host work experience placements. 10% say not often enough. 86% say often enough.
- 6% say they are interested in Countec helping them to recruit a young person to part-time paid work. 23% say maybe.
- 4% would like to help to set up an apprenticeship in their company.
