To develop employability skills and get a good understanding of what it's really like in different jobs, young people need to meet adults and talk to them about their work.
In a WorkOut! session, you join employees from other organisations, to answer questions about your experience of work, speed-dating style. WorkOut! is easy, fast and fun.
Choose from:
- Primary WorkOut! - in primary schools
- Career WorkOut! - in secondary schools
- City Centre WorkOut! - guests meet young people, from either primary or secondary schools, in a training room beneath our offices in MK city centre
- iPEC WorkOut! – guests answer questions from students in our own Personalised Education Centre for disengaged 14-16 year olds.
All WorkOut! sessions give Guests a chance to:
- articulate what they do for work and why
- find out more about young people's interests and aspirations
- network with Guests from other local businesses.
Advice to WorkOut Guests:
- relax and be yourself, there are no right and wrong answers
- be authentic, talk about what you have actually experienced
- if being interviewed by more than one young person, encourage all to have a go at asking questions.
