MK Behaviour Partnership
Milton Keynes Behaviour Partnership (MKBP) was formed in 2007 to plan the future of alternative education for young people aged 11-16 who were excluded or at risk of exclusion from, or otherwise not attending, mainstream school.
MKBP comprises representatives from the 12 MK secondary schools and MK Local Authority.
MKBP planned a new structure for alternative education through three locality-based Personalised Education Centres (PECs), representing the north, central and south of Milton Keynes. Central and South PEC replaced the two Pupil Referral Units that were located in those areas.
For the North, MKBP chose to let a contract for an independent PEC to operate for three years from 2009. This contract was won by Countec, who commenced delivery in September 2009.
