Queen Eleanor School welcomes guests from the World of Work

On Thursday 9th February 2012, Queen Eleanor School hosted 3 business guests.
40 Year 5 and Year 6 pupils participated in the event, which involved the pupils guessing the guest’s jobs and asking their own questions about what work is like. The aim was to improve the student’s career awareness and communication skills. The business guest’s benefited by finding out what today's young people think about work.
Shahbaz Khan of Home Retail Group said “A really good session. I really enjoyed it and would love to do it again”.
Nicky Saunders of The Parks Trust said “I enjoyed talking to the students about my experiences”.
Ian Allen of DHL said “A very enjoyable session”.
One student said, “I enjoyed asking questions and knowing more about work”.
Another student said, "I enjoyed asking lots of questions and guessing the jobs”.
Matthew Reetz, Deputy Head Teacher said “An interesting mix of jobs – the strategies for involving all of the children and the structure of the morning were very good. Thanks to all of the guests for coming in”.
