Shenley Brook End Student A Teen Temp

A Year 11 student from Shenley Brook End has secured a temporary paid-work contract to complete an important research project for Countec. The research set out to discover which employability skills were strongest among MK students.
Student Toto Obi was employed by Countec (with permission from the Education Welfare Service) to input and analyse data from more than 2,000 employer reports on young people's work experience placements.
"What I enjoyed most was working with the staff and developing my data management and presentation skills," said Toto.
The research findings are significant. They show that the employability skills levels of MK's 15-year-olds have improved slightly (compared with 2009-10) and remain strong in Self Management and Team Work. The weaker skills are Problem Solving and Business & Customer Awareness, both the focus of Countec's activities in schools.
Michael Sandison, Countec's Director of Employer Engagement and supervisor of Toto's work, said: "Toto was a credit to her family and her school. Her attention to detail and consistency were commendable and she fitted well into our team. We wish every success in Year 11 back at Shenley Brook End."
