New Bradwell School Welcomes Business Guests

On Wednesday 18th January, New Bradwell School hosted four business guests.

77 Year 5 and 6 pupils participated in the event, which involved the pupils guessing their jobs and asking their own questions about what work is like.  The aim was to benefit students by improving their career awareness and communication skills.  The business guests benefited by finding out what today's young people think about work.

Felicity Robertson, Deputy Head said: “The session at the beginning of each session where the children had to piece together clues to identify the occupation was very good for listening skills.” “This is the first time that we have been involved in Primary WorkOut! Please invite us again.”

Mrs Moore, teacher said:  “Lots of communication between children and adults. Good insight into the world of work”

Ian Allen, DNL said “It was fun and enjoyable. The pupils were enthusiastic with some well thought out questions.”

One student said:  “I enjoyed guessing peoples jobs and learning about what the people do, it was interesting”

Another student said:  "The woman was sharing lots of stuff about her career and she was inspiring"
